INTRO LOG
[[Exactly what it says on the tin! This is just an initial log to sort of get things started and is largely freeform, open to (but not limited to):
-Meetings before classes start
-First day business
-Dormshenanigans meetings
-First classes in progress
-or whatever the heck else you want to do for beginning-of-term things!
There's a CR meme up now for some initial planning if you like, or feel free to just hop in here.]]

[He looks at her more closely.]
A psychic, huh. You ever get test answers? Times the X-Men'll be away? Anything more useful than bird shit? [He's never heard of her being much use, but it's worth checking.]
no subject
[ her head tips to the side and she digs in a pocket to pull out a tissue and uses it to wipe as much of the book off as she can ]
I have straight As. [ yes. she gets test answers. but that's cheating. shhh. she dips her head and looks like she might laugh but is holding it back. all because john said 'shit' and her family never cursed. ]
Sometimes I get things that turn out useful? I never know until it happens.
no subject
[Really, the tone in his voice probably gives the answer away well enough.]
no subject
You'd get upset.
no subject
[This is not how you talk to children John stop]

[ D: ]
no subject
That's good. I didn't think of that one.
So what's there to avoid, right?
no subject
Right...
no subject
That's why I'm here, kid, not there. That's the whole point. Relax.
no subject
Do you avoid everybody?

[ logic. she worried about bothering him now. maybe she should go back... ]
Are you always bored then? [ she should stop asking stupid questions. leave the guy alone, meadow. but she's curious. she's looking off then back at him, debating leaving it at this. she already prevented him from getting bird on him. deed done. she's aware she's probably annoying. she's been told that by her peers. better to keep quiet. ]
no subject
[The next question just makes him laugh.]
Nah. Just means more small kinds of trouble instead of the big ones. Actually keeps me busy.
no subject
[ it makes her smile thoughtfully. if it's stupid, it could still be good. that's comforting in a way. validates her following the stranger things that pop in her head that everyone calls stupid if she doesn't explain ]
...like toasting a couch or something?
no subject
[Kids also have the weirdest minds.]
No, that'd be pointless. I'm the only pyrokinetic here and it'd take about as much effort as blinking, so that's no fun and all punishment. Way off the mark.
no subject
obviously not something he'd do intentionally then. she's just going to let that idea drop quietly. ]
Oh. Well... what's trouble but no punishment?
no subject
If you don't know, stay out of trouble. It's not the kind of fun for you.
no subject
You can't know that until I've tried it.
no subject
[He grins, condescending but also genuinely interested.]
no subject
[ so yes. very interested. she's cocking her head to the side. it's not that she wants trouble, but it's a completely true statement to her. trouble can be good sometimes, can't it? ]
no subject
[Although now he's realizing just how much unintentional trouble precognition could really bring. Poor brat.]
no subject
she makes a little face and twists the end of a strand of hair, looking off ]
Sometimes I do that? [ cause she wants to impress petre but that is not for john to know ]
no subject
[He gives her a little wink. Weird kid, but he likes the troublemaking streak.]
