If I had any sense. Not like he could control it out of the way, and I obviously could.

It's not that nice to assume someone you just met is a murderer. Or smart if he's running free at a boarding school.

No, I'm assuming he did. That fire would've left nothing but his skeleton. How likely was I to let that happen?

Pretty 'not' but reflexes are hard to fight. Like when something comes at your head, and instinct screams duck? You have to expect it coming to be able to tell say goose instead.
