Well, Ryan - if nothing else, I can promise you I don't do anything half-assed.

[He pauses there for a moment, before abruptly asking-]

So what exactly are you planning on doing, anyway? I mean, how- no, I know how, mechanically anyway. What should I expect.

[The sound he produces is a little more dignified than a snort, but the feeling is close enough.]

A good time? Fuck, I don't know. I just do whatever I want.

[Whatever feels right, whatever makes the other enjoy it as much as he does. He can be considerate enough in that department.]

You'd be fucking me, if that's any comfort.

[The idea of him doing whatever he wants is honestly a little appealing, in ways Ryan isn't really certain of- he shakes it quickly, but a little slips through mentally anyway, just a brief touch of a curious feeling. Nothing with any influence, not the emotion itself, more an impression of it that's almost like a thought.]

I can work with that. Not like I've tried it out, I don't really have a preference one way or the other.

[a pause.]

I'd tell you what I like and don't like. And I wouldn't be too gentle about it.

If you're sensitive about that shit, you might not want it to be me.

[All warnings, and he's not sure why. Anyone else and he'd take that offer until they chickened out in the heat of the moment.]

[It's not like he's got anything else to go on. Ryan shifts to lean against the wall, arms folded.]

Besides, I want to try it out, and you're the only one who's offered. If I end up not liking it, fine, then I know what I don't want later.

Like I said - think about it for a couple of days. Then get back to me.

[He holds his hands up in a little gesture of surrender, glancing back toward his room; probably not quiet enough over there yet, and so he huffs out a breath and decides to head for the sofa instead.]

Think I'm gonna sleep on it for now though. I'll do the thinking later.

[and he gestures to the side, offering him his full permission. Go on, their conversation's run its length anyway.]

[He does wait a couple days, as promised-- running over things in his head again and again, but never really changing his mind. He's too curious for that, unable to let an opportunity go once it's presented itself (it's the only offer he's had, he's got to take it) - and alright, it helps that he's undeniably attracted.

When he finally seeks Petre out it takes a hell of a lot of effort to try to make sure he's not broadcasting anything he doesn't want to be, anything that'll get him caught-- so he's quick about it as he makes his way to the room he'd noted down earlier, knocks a couple times, sends out a tentative thought.]

--hey, are you here?

[By now his room is being shared with another student - none other than John Allerdyce. When the door opens he's either alone or awake while the other's asleep - either way the way into the bedroom is left small and uninviting, with just a glimpse of Petre's features and his shoulder leaning against the frame.

A pause. He smiles.]

I was starting to wonder if you'd show up.

[Which is a lie. Petre completely forgot about their conversation until about a second ago.]

Hey, I did tell you I wasn't gonna change my mind.

[Ryan flashes him a small, brief grin, before glancing over his shoulder and down the hallway. Empty for now, at least.]

So- is this a bad time?

[He gives Ryan a deliberate look, from head to toe, like he's assessing by his body language whether those words really do translate.]

Not here.

[He digs into his pocket, reaches to the side to grab a jacket, then nudges Ryan out of the way to close the door behind him.]

Where do you go when you want it to be quiet?

[Ryan frowns thoughtfully, hands tucked into his pockets- looking him over briefly while he thinks.]

Usually I either go outside or hang out on one of the couches, but sometimes they leave classrooms unlocked. ...Not sure if any of those would actually be good ideas, though.

[he's all about bad ideas, Ryan.]

Okay. Let's go find us a classroom.

...if you're sure. Should, uh, should I grab a blanket or something?

[It's a terrible idea, but- fuck, they both have roommates, there aren't a lot of options here. Besides, who's going to check classrooms now.]

Nope. But one thing - [he puts a finger on Ryan's shoulder -] You wear protection. Every time.

[petre has it with him. So that's taken care of.]

Do you know any kids with psychometry? Might wanna avoid their classes.

-I figured, I just. Haven't had time to go out.

[He shrugs one shoulder, a bit uncomfortably- honestly, he kind of assumed Petre would have things like that anyway- and gestures for him to follow. Ryan's thoughts after that are distracted; he's busy listening, paying attention to what he can hear and how close.]

All my classes are safe, far as I know. Anything else... we're just gonna have to find out later, I guess.
